A Software Development Technician typically works as part of a software development team, to builds simple software components (whether web, mobile or desktop applications) to be used by other members of the team as part of larger software development projects. They will interpret simple design requirements for discrete components of the project under supervision. The approach will typically include implementing code, which other team members have developed, to produce the required component. . The Software Development Technician will also be engaged in testing that the specific component meets its intended functionality.

including but not limited to – Python, Java and C#
fundamentals, Web fundamentals – HTML, CSS and
SQL and data modelling, Microservices and Cloud
• Understand how the skills fit your business
requirements and implement these effectively
• Develop the qualities needed to perform well under
pressure and as part of a wider software development
team and Digital/IT/Technology organisation
Levy businesses can use their contributions to pay for this training. The costs will be £15,000.
Non-levy paying business may not incur a cost for this training. If the employee on this programme is under 19 years of age and your business has less than 50 employees, there will be no cost for the training.
If the learner is over 19 years of age and/or your business has over 50 employees then you will contribute 5% towards the cost of the training, which would be £750 for this programme.
